How to Stop Hiding Behind “Fine” and Start Living Free
It’s Sunday night again.
You’ve folded the last load of laundry, prepped lunches, maybe scrolled Pinterest for dinner ideas — and if someone asked how you’re doing, you’d probably answer, “I’m fine.”
But deep down? You’re running on fumes.
You’ve been holding it all together — for your family, your job, your church — while quietly falling apart inside.
And if we’re honest, “fine” has become your default setting, hasn’t it?
It’s safe. Predictable. Easier than explaining the exhaustion you can’t quite name.
But “fine” isn’t freedom. It’s camouflage.
And the longer we wear it, the heavier it gets.
So today’s Sunday Reset isn’t about doing more.
It’s about feeling again.
Because the woman who’s mastered hiding behind “fine” deserves to feel alive again.
🎥 Watch the Replay: "When 'Fine' Becomes Your Coping Mechanism
In this week’s Free Coaching Friday, I opened up about the moment that completely changed my life —
the day I found myself hiding under my desk, shaking, crying, and finally realizing that “fine” was my cover story, not my truth.
That breakdown became my breakthrough.
And in this replay, I share the exact process I used to move from “fine” to free — one breath, one truth, one reset at a time.
👉 Watch now on YouTube — and grab your Unapologetic You Workbook to follow along with the 3-step reset.
🌱 Your Sunday Reset Reflection
Use this as your quiet moment before the week begins. Grab your journal, light a candle, and walk through these three reflection prompts based on the framework I teach in my workbook.
1️⃣ TRACE IT — What’s “Fine” Covering?
When did “fine” become your safety blanket?
Who told you that being “too much” or “too emotional” was wrong?
Write down one memory or moment when you learned to shrink.
You can’t heal what you won’t look at.
Trace it, name it, release it.
2️⃣ TRIGGER TRACER — Catch It in Real Time
Every time “I’m fine” slips out, pause and ask yourself:
What just happened?
What lie did I tell myself in that moment?
What’s actually true right now?
Recognition is your reset.
Every time you name the lie, you weaken it.
3️⃣ RESET IT — From “Fine” to Free
Run your Unapologetic Reset:
Stop. Plant your feet. You’re safe.
Breathe. Inhale grace, exhale guilt.
Say it. Out loud: “I’m not too much. I’m not too late. I’m not invisible. I am His.”
Move. Stretch, walk, dance — remind your body you’re not stuck.
Freedom isn’t about perfection. It’s about peace.
✝️ Faith-Fueled Reframe
Friend, “fine” might have helped you survive — but it’s not where God called you to stay.
He never asked you to fake peace. He invited you to live it.
So as you head into this new week, make this your declaration:
“I’m not living on ‘fine’ anymore. I’m becoming free.”
